How to Move Listings and Orders from eBay to Shopify and Keep Them in Sync

BulkFlow | | 10/15/2026

To move from eBay to Shopify, download a listings report from eBay Seller Hub, then import it into Shopify with the Store Migration app or a product CSV. For ongoing sync, order history or a faster move, use an eBay integration app, and keep in mind that eBay reviews and seller feedback can’t be transferred.

Many sellers don’t leave eBay entirely. They build their own Shopify store and keep selling on eBay through an integration, so it helps to decide early whether you’re migrating or expanding.

What You Can Move From eBay to Shopify

Product listings move most easily, while other data needs apps or can’t be moved at all. This table shows what to expect:

Data Can it move? How
Active and unsold listings Yes Seller Hub listings report with the Store Migration app or product CSV
Draft listings No Recreate them in Shopify
Inventory by location Not with the Store Migration app Set stock levels in Shopify after import
Order history Yes, with an app eBay orders report and an order import app
Reviews and seller feedback No Rebuild reviews on Shopify with a review app

Your eBay search visibility and marketplace traffic also stay on eBay. Plan how you’ll attract shoppers to your Shopify store before you stop selling on eBay.

How to Move From eBay to Shopify

Start with your product listings, since they form the base of your new store. You can import them with Shopify’s Store Migration app, a product CSV or a third-party app.

Export your eBay listings

eBay lets you download your listings as a report from Seller Hub. Follow these steps:

  1. In eBay Seller Hub, go to Reports > Downloads.
  2. Choose to download a Listings report.
  3. Select all active listings or all unsold listings, then download the file.

Draft listings can’t be exported, so finish or recreate them separately. Keep an untouched copy of the report and save your product photos as a backup.

Import with the Store Migration app

Shopify’s Store Migration app imports eBay products from the listings report without editing the file. It’s in early access and available to some stores on desktop.

  1. Install the Store Migration app from your Shopify admin.
  2. Upload your unedited eBay listings report.
  3. Start the import and review the report of imported items and issues.

The app has some limits. It supports only three product options, sets each product to its highest price when prices vary by location and doesn’t import inventory by location.

Import with a product CSV

If the app isn’t available to you, edit the eBay report to match Shopify’s product CSV template. Remove Shopify’s sample products and any eBay columns you won’t map, then match the rest to Shopify’s columns.

eBay listings report Shopify product CSV
Title Title
eBay category 1 name Product type
Custom label (SKU) SKU
Available quantity Inventory quantity
Current price Price
Condition Google Shopping condition

Add a unique URL handle for each product, and give variants of the same product the same handle with their option names and values. Then go to Products > Import, upload the file, turn off publishing to all sales channels and preview before importing.

Products missing a variant option fail to import, so add those manually. Check images after import too, and add public image URLs or upload photos in Shopify where they’re missing.

If you manage product data across Shopify, WooCommerce or Wix, Bulkflow supports bulk import, export and updates to existing product records with field mapping. That can help when you need to map columns from an eBay report to Shopify’s product fields.

Import with an eBay integration app

Integration apps connect directly to your eBay account, so you can select listings to import without handling files. Options merchants use include CedCommerce eBay Integration, eBay Importer by Infoshore, LitCommerce and Shopify Marketplace Connect.

Many of these apps also sync inventory and prices between eBay and Shopify after the import. Compare which data each one supports, how it handles variants and what it costs for your catalog size, and test it on a few listings first.

Move Order History and Reviews

Historical orders help with customer service and reporting. To export them, go to Reports > Downloads in Seller Hub, choose the Orders source and select Paid and shipped to include all completed orders.

Shopify can’t import orders from a CSV on its own, so use an app such as eBay Integration & Sync, LitCommerce or eBay Importer. Turn off new-order notifications before importing, so staff don’t receive an email for every historical order.

eBay reviews and feedback can’t be exported or migrated. Review apps such as Judge.me, Loox or Yotpo can help you collect and display reviews on your Shopify products.

Keep Selling on eBay After Moving

You can keep your eBay listings live while running your Shopify store. Shopify Marketplace Connect lists eBay among its supported marketplaces, and other integration apps also sync listings, inventory and orders between the two.

Marketplace Connect includes your first 50 marketplace-synced orders each month, then charges 1% per additional synced order, capped at $99 per month. eBay’s own selling fees still apply to eBay sales.

When you sell the same stock in both places, keep inventory synced to avoid overselling. Check stock levels on fast-selling items more often during busy periods.

Set Up and Review Your Shopify Store

While your data moves, set up the parts of your store that eBay handled for you. Configure your theme, payment provider, shipping rates, taxes and store policies before launch.

After importing, review your products carefully. These checks catch most problems:

  • Prices, weights and inventory. Confirm they imported correctly, since errors affect orders and shipping.
  • Product visibility. Make imported products available to your sales channels, because hidden products stay unpublished.
  • Details. Check descriptions, images, variants and meta descriptions.
  • Collections. Group products into collections so shoppers can browse.
  • Inventory tracking. Turn on tracking for products you stock.
  • Checkout. Place a test order and check shipping, taxes and confirmation emails.

Bring Shoppers to Your Shopify Store

A new Shopify store doesn’t come with eBay’s marketplace traffic. Rewrite product titles and meta descriptions for search engines, add your sitemap to Google Search Console and share your store on social media.

Shopping ads, email marketing and reviews on your own product pages can also help. Keeping eBay active during the transition gives you sales while your Shopify traffic grows.

Common eBay to Shopify Problems

Most migration issues come from export limits and formatting. Watch for these:

  • Some listings are missing. Draft listings can’t be exported, or the wrong listing type was selected.
  • Options are missing. Products had more than three options, which the Store Migration app doesn’t import.
  • Prices look wrong. Location-based prices were replaced with the highest price.
  • Stock levels are zero or wrong. Inventory by location wasn’t imported, so set it in Shopify.
  • Products failed to import. They were missing a variant option.
  • Staff received many order emails. Order notifications were on during an order import.
  • Inventory doesn’t match between stores. Sync is delayed or not set up.

Conclusion

Moving from eBay to Shopify lets you build your own store while choosing whether to keep selling on eBay.
